Question: Wheels keep on spinning round, spinning round, spinning round. I need ideas for new hobbies! Got any?
I already paint, draw, play lot’s of instruments, build speaker cabinets, play with electronics, work on cars, and design webpages. Anything new?
Answer: Do some volunteer work in your community that will benefit society. You seem to like to fix things, do it for someone who can’t do it themselves. You’ll make a lot of other people happy along with yourself!

Question: BMW 325i (E36) Misfire?
My BMW 325i (E36, M50 engine) has a misfire at low (under2300rpm) revs, ive taken it to be plugged in and replaced the Lambda sensor as was diagnosed, replaced spark plugs, filters etc, rocker cover gasket (it was leaking onto the plugs), its better than it was but still not right, has anyone come across this before? Im thinking maybe Coils, air flow meter, or maybe engine position sensor, but to be honest, its an expensive hobby throwing parts at a car on the offchance it might fix it. I’ve changed fuel to BP super unleaded and its made a marginal difference. anyone got any ideas?
Answer: Sounds like a coil breaking down under load, common fault.
Most garages should be able to put it on the diagnostic machine and isolate which one is faulty. Cheaper than fitting bits that it doesn`t need.
Check your plugs visually and see if one looks a different colour to the rest.
Pull the coils out and see if there is any visible signs of “tracking out”

Question: Why do I like action figures and I’m 21 years old?
I’m not sure why, but I really like action figures (only robotic-typed ones, like halo spartans, or star wars droids, also I love die-cast cars). I also built a full suit of halo armor.. But personally I don’t even play the game that much.. I love to party and drink and hang out with my friends and consider myself more or less normal.. But these sort of wierd hobbies are obviously frowned on, and for whatever reason I seem to like them.. I don’t run around in a full set of halo armor or go to conventions, or play with the action figures.. I just like to sit them on a shelf for no real good reason.. and then go buy another one to sit on the shelf.. or take out a piece of armor and work on it (sand/fiberglass/paint) and then put it away.. I enjoy it, I just don’t see a purpose and I don’t know why I like it.
oh and I think transformers was basically the best movie ever.. I guess it was the combo of robots and muscle cars
Answer: you dont want to

its perfectly normal.

Question: Why is my RC Plane twitching when transmitter is off?
I just got a Tower Hobbies 40 RC Plane RTF and noticed when the transmitter is off but Receiver is on the servos go crazy and only stop when the transmitter is turned on. The same thing happened to my Folke Wulf 190 causing the servos to strip the gears. I don’t want the same to happen to my Tower hobbies 40. The only thing i can think of is there both using FM transmitters.
Answer: The other guy is wrong…
The reason being is you should NEVER turn off the radio first. It is always turn on receiver last and turn off receiver first. The Radio should always be turn on first and last. The reason being is because the Radio is telling the transmitter what to do.
Because the radio is off, and the receiver is on, the receiver is receiving radio transmissions from outside sources like car radios, your cell phone and anything else that transmits radio waves at a megahertz radio.
You could also try investing in a 2.4 GHz radio, but it would be a waste of money if you are not following the basic radio on first, radio off last rule.

Robot Kits
Fascinated with electronics, then you will be doubly fascinated with the robots. And if you are indeed, then get yourself the robot kits so that you can have an amazing learning experience at your home. With the robot kits not only you will be able to understand and implement the knowledge of electronics, but after completion of the task you can have the ultimate robotic companion. But for the beginners, let us understand what is a robotic kit? Technically a robot kit is a special construction kit, which is used for building robots, especially autonomous mobile robots. In all, the robot kits are a great educational tool that keeps you involved and informed at the same time.
The robot kits are available for all the age groups and there can be many options while selecting it. Beginners can start with the entry level robot kits to venture in this field. Remember it is always better to understand the complete process and technique involved before you start with a costly robot kit. This is just to avoid any accidents in the process. The robot kits typically consist of structural elements, mechanical elements, motors (or other actuators), sensors and a controller board that controls the inputs and outputs of the robot. Some advanced robot kits are also available without electronics so as to provide you the opportunity to use your won designed electronics controllers and other circuits.
There are many manufacturers and designers of robot kits who provide a wide array of mechanical, programmable and various other multifunction robot kits. The general robot kits are a combination of mechanical and electronics process with a programmable chipset and can be used widely as great educational tool, whereas the high-end robot kits are similar, and the only difference being much complexity that can be a product of artificial intelligence, which is incorporated in the robots. These high-end robots take a great length of time to complete and can be taken as a group task, rather than an individual activity.
One of the popular robot kits are qfix robot kits. The qfix robot kits are an excellent educational tool for purpose of teaching robotics. They are widely popular and are commonly used in schools, high schools and mechatronics training in companies. Apart from this hobby robot builders commonly use the robot kits. Another popular robot kit is manufactured by the legendry Lego Mindstorms and consists of mechanical parts, a advanced controller, various sensors and actuators, and a software environment in order to program the constructed robot. In the qfix robot kits the mechanical parts are made of aluminum and all elements are industry standard. The mechanical elements in the robot kits include bars and plates, holders for motors and sensors, axes and wheels. Generally, Atmel controllers are used as electronics components.
Mastering this activity can lead you to the competitions that are held at various levels for robot building. This can be the most rewarding experience for any participant to present and display his or her robot.
