Leather Hobby

Question: Needing new Hobby. Thinking of working with leather or horse hitching. Where would I start?

Winter month are settling in and I’m needing a hobby and I’ve been considering working with leather to mend and make such things as bridles, chaps, and such for our horses are rough on tack or horse hair hitching. How would I start?

Answer: my grandfather was a stockman and did this through the winter months, he took years to reach that level of skill though and it’s rather difficult. I would advise you start by learning from someone who already as the skills needed or take a saddlery course to learn so you know you are doing it right. if you were just doing non functional stuff i’d suggest betting leather work books, but if you want it to be functional take lessons
