Pony Riding
Some people love to ride a pony especially children. But, riding a pony can be complicated if you do not know how. You need to know pony language and what to watch out for so that you have a connection between yourself and your pony. You need to develop trust so that the pony will let you ride him. You need to get your pony get to know you too. A pony is happiest when he understands his pecking order and knows who’s the boss. A pony needs to feel secure and be willing to be what he is told. Do not frighten or bully your pony but you can be firm and affectionate as well as kind to him. It is much better for a pony to feel like you are a friend.
Raising a healthy pony
It is important to have a healthy pony so you, as the owner of the pony, need to know what to do for the well being of your pony. You need to have a health checklist so you know what to check and not forget to check anything. There are common health problems that a pony may develop such as:
- collic
- coughs
- laminitis, and
- mud fever
