Question: I am looking to make contact with someone in the job board or recruiting industry…………….?

I need to find some information on job boards and how to start one. This will be industry specific and initially will only be a side job (hobby, if you will). the market is nearly untapped, and those that exist in the market are not industry specific. To give an example, one of three specific divisions account for over $14 Billion in revenue a year alone.

The opportunity will include a job board that post positions, takes resumes and qualifies candidates before putting them in contact with employers and vice versa. I need someone with serious knowledge and for someone serious it could involve potential partnership or financial gain in the long run.

Answer: i would suggest to join the following sites:

1. linkedin.com
2. xing.com

Question: what’s a better hobby? mentoring or computer graphics?

because i don’t know.

Answer: They’re both awesome. But mentoring cannot be taken lightly, you have someone elses life in your hands and they expect you to help. Mentoring gives you a good feeling, knowing that youre helping someone, giving them someone to talk to. Whereas computer graphics is a fun job that never gets old, you get to make awesome stuff and it pays good. ^_^

Question: Can your career world really limited by Carpal Tunnel syndrome?

I get tingling in the pinky and i try not to use the comptuer much but my hobbies sometimes are computer related. I also try the guitar at times but it’s not like I play hardcore for 24 hours straght .

I am looking for a job now and have noticed most jobs that i would be competent in require typing. I have been trying to avoid those kinds of jobs but seems there isn’t a way out. For example my experience has been in the office support area, and most jobs want you to type 40 50wpm.. I’m just not gonna do it anymore. i had a few temp jobs where i typed alot but before i didn’t suffeer from this hand problem.

If i ignore the CTS my hands will just die,, so how can i find a job? My resume has “good with computers” because i have alot of experience in that, but i ca’nt even and don’t even want a job with much computing involved. So how do people with CTS deal? Please dont suggest surgeries because i’m not the kind of people who is for casual surgery like many other people.

Answer: try someone who specializes in hand yoga or therapy.
it is not irreversible. you can improve it.
without surgery. a hand yogi here has done a lot of it.
look for one in your town.
yes it limits your capabilities thus your career.

Question: What’s the easiest way for a hobby band to accept money?

We have a small band, and we perform from time to time. We do that for fun (and usually for free) but sometimes our hosts insist on paying us :) . We all have full time jobs, the bad is only our hobby. what’s the simplest way for us to accept money legally in the US? We could use it to buy some equipment (we don’t need it for ourselves).

Answer: Well, if you want to talk legally….

You have to incorporate a business in your state and claim all income on tax forms and pay taxes on it

BUT……..

You can also deduct all expenses as well. As long as your costs for operating the band are more than the money you bring in, you would have a net loss, which means a reduction in your tax liability.

In Ohio, FYI, the fee to incorporate is at least $125 and then you would probably want to have an accountant work with you on what are deductible expenses and how to track your money, etc…

Working with one’s own hands can be a very powerful form of self expression. There is any number of fantastic ways to create with the use of bare hands, woodworking being one of them. Without it, the wonderful architectural structures and houses many of us live in simply would not exist. Everyone has to get started somewhere. Beginners interested in woodworking may find it’s much easier to get into than they first thought.

Some people prefer to approach a new skill by learning from a professional. If a reliable instructor helps you to feel more self assured in your newfound knowledge, seek out a woodworking class that you can join. Locate a community based program or if all else fails, consult your local community college for classes designed to enter students into further education. Woodworking doesn’t have to be a full blown career if all you seek is a hobby. Training only needs to go as far as you are comfortable taking it.

It’s common for most people to find that they are incredibly caught up with work and family which leaves little opportunity for the pursuit of a hobby. If this sounds like something you face, try looking online for woodworking instruction. Online programs have become a common option for learning new things and attending classes from the comfort of your own home. At the very least there is an endless wealth of information on every aspect of woodworking. There is nothing to hold you back when you know where the answers are found.

The first step in woodworking of any kind is to build something. Don’t feel pressured to complete an advanced project that requires extensive planning and preparation. Start small with things that are easy and allow for room to grow. Once you get started the possibilities seem to grow beyond your imagination. Embrace the creative side of you that is drawn to this type of craft.

A mailbox is a relatively easy project that is perfect for testing your skill. Be daring and get creative. Make it original by adding decorative accents or painting it in a fun colour. Birdhouses and doghouses are incredibly useful items that will be appreciated by those who use them, especially in the winter season. Many woodworkers actually start their own part time businesses designing and selling these types of products. The point of a hobby is not to make money, however, if you should be able to then it certainly is a testament to your ability.

Woodworking begins with the proper tools. It’s not enough to find the cheapest material and expect it to be stable and reliable. Good wood will be much sturdier and last longer while resisting damage from time and weather. Tools that are properly made will serve you more efficiently than the cheapest ones available. Most hobbies involve the use of some kind of tool or instrument. If that piece is not adequate, the outcome of your creation will not be up to standard. Cover all of the bases and woodworking will be a success regardless of your skill level.
