Question: Are ultralight/light sport flying clubs common?

I’m kinda interested in getting a pilots license, though it seems like its an expensive and intensive hobby. I’m interested in getting a light sport certificate since id probably just fly once in awhile for fun, but i dont really want to drop +25k down for a plane plus hanger fees, maintanence, etc. Are fliying clubs devoted to ultralights or light sport aircraft common? i could only find regular flying clubs in my area online but im wondering if there might be a shot at finding one if i called around to some smaller aiports in the area

Answer: I’d recommend checking with your local airport. Many times there are instructors who could answer your questions with a local context, as clubs tend to be somewhat unique to the area they are in.
When I got my private, I did not purchase a plane, because I wasn’t going to be flying enough hours to justify the expense.
For instance, a Cessna 150, flown 100 hours a year, will run you more than renting that same Cessna from an FBO. I found that the break even point for me was in the 200 to 225 hours a year area. So, I ended up renting a plane. Buying an airplane has so many other costs involved, such as insurance, annual, equipment updates, repairs, etc.
The LSA is a good license. Would you be open to having a local CFI go over the difference in the LSA and the Private certificates?
Good luck – it’s really great to be a pilot..

Hobbies controlled by a radio may cost you a lot.Models which are of toy grade may be too entertaining for children, but for a person who is interested in a hobby which is controlled by radio should implement it in a model which is of the hobby grade.

The most popular and the most preferred radio controlled model is a car.But make it a point that it does not shut your options and the thing that you are looking out for.The principle and the concept of a model whic is of the hobby grade is tough and lucid in design. Many of them need to practise for mastering the control over a system. One of the most preferred way to start is to invest in a car and in future you can go ahead with higher models such as aeroplanes and others. A individual having a facility to access a ground(eg:football field) can cautiously implement in a airborne instrument as the beginning stages needs ample amount of space to master the control of the model.

There are many highly dedicated makers of radio controlled models of the hobby grade and they tend to have one which suits your budget also your taste. It is preferrable to watch out for few shops that have RC(radio controlled) models of the hobby grade before buying one.By doing this you get a better option for the features that you expect. The price of the models may differ but you hopefully come in contacts with many hobbysits by enquiring in many places.

The limit of money that you are about to invest is totaly dependent on your capacities . If you long to invest in cheap models then you can may opt for one among those or else you can opt for the one’s which are high ended and latest that have complicated contols and circuits. This is a fact regarding the airborne one’s.But the thing you need to note is you need to be wise while investing in such controllers and make it a point that you need not invest if you are not a RC enthusiast,as these radio controlled hobby grade models are much more costlier than than the models of the toy grade. If you are thinking that you dont have enough time spend with those models then you aren’t the person for whom the hobby grade model is meant for.

In olden days when internet was not even invented meeting in person was the one and only means for the enthusiaists to communicate with each other.Even a phone call also a small mail used to be not enough for communicating efficiently. But the RC model enthusiaists used to travel a lot just to exchange their views regarding the hobbies to get interacted. This was the difficulty during those days. But the invention of internet has made it easier for you to interact with each other. Now a days we people are just a click of a mouse away from each other. These days its not required by the hobby enthusiasts to meet in person, but still meeting in person was considered to be more effective.Groups in the internet help to organize more and more events effectively and to know about more and more hobby related activities effectively.

Question: What would be a good hobby for me?

I was thinking about doing something artsy perhaps. I’m 20 btw. I was thinking of maybe painting, taking ballet, belly dancing, making a website, modeling-if i was taller. Anything that’s interesting really.

Just good suggestions. I really need to get a hobby lol.

Thanks!!

Answer: Srapbooking, It does not matter how old you are. You can do what ever you want to do to make your scrapbook unique. There is no wrong way to do it. It gets rid of all your photos that are lying around. And it is so fun to open them later and see all your friends, family, and how you all have changed.

Question: Can I paint for hobby?

and not as a profession? Is it a waste of time for me? Should I just spend my time+money on hobbies related to my career?

I’m a student trying to become an aircraft maintenance engineer but I love looking at art.

Answer: Painting isn’t necessarily expensive, there are far more expensive hobbies.
And no you shouldn’t have a hobby related to your career. You can burnout quite easily if you obsess over it. It’d be best to step back and do something different every once in a while. Refresh, ya kno?
