Drafting Hobby Table
Drafting Hobby Table

Question: Advice and opinions on this artist table as a gift?
I’m trying to find a good Christmas present that my boyfriend of 3 years will love and be able to use. Recently we moved into an apartment and couldn’t bring his ginormous table with us. He’s an artist (by hobby, but very good) and hasn’t been able to do any of his drawings. We’ve talked about finding a table for him, but to no avail. I thought I would see what I could do for Christmas and while I was looking, I came across a “drafting table”. Then I found a “fold away drafting table”. I’m not sure of the materials or how well they do so I thought I would get some advice since I can’t actually ask him.

This is what I was looking at: http://www.draftingsteals.com/drafting-tables-folding.html
And if anyone knows of a better deal or where to get one for cheaper (but not really bad quality)… all help is appreciated! Thank you!
Answer: Honestly, that’s very sweet that you support your bf in this because he could use all that support.
Yes, that is a good table.
But look at what kind of art he does!
Pencil, watercolors, get curious and ask him!
Then do some searching, and ask your local stores for their art aisles!

Question: Wheels keep on spinning round, spinning round, spinning round. I need ideas for new hobbies! Got any?
I already paint, draw, play lot’s of instruments, build speaker cabinets, play with electronics, work on cars, and design webpages. Anything new?
Answer: Do some volunteer work in your community that will benefit society. You seem to like to fix things, do it for someone who can’t do it themselves. You’ll make a lot of other people happy along with yourself!

Mac Hobbies
Mac Hobbies

Question: What are some of your thoughts on the new Apple commercials?
I’m writing an essay of analysis on Popular Culture and I was thinking of writing something about Apple’s new Mac Ad Campaign. Where there’s two men one’s a “PC” and the other is a “Mac”. If you don’t really know what I’m talking about then here’s a link… http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/
So my questions are:
Do you think these are a good way to catch your attention? Why or why not? (style, dialogue, etc)
Do these commericals make you want to buy a Mac or even consider it?
Do these commericals touch on some of your hobbies or whatnot? How so?
Anything you can provide me about these commericals would be great!!! (Opinions, Experience with a Mac, etc)
Thanks!!!
(I will pick a best answer… btw)Answer: I’ve seen the commercials and they did not influence my buying decision. By the time those commercials appeared (and as I remember it was at the time of a huge Mac store inauguration in New York) I’d already made up my mind about buying an iBook, no matter the cost.
I think the commercials do a great job in portraying the PC spirit as that dull, office type guy. However, I don’t identify with the Macintosh personna. I mean, I am a huge fanatic of Mac (I own two ipods and an iBook for which I paid more than 2200$) yet I do not go around dressed in leather jackets or in Jeans, and on rare occasions I go more than two days without shaving.
To summarise, I think the Mac personna is a big stereotype, and I don’t identify with it. It’s like one of those theatrical plays when you feel a character is being overrepresented or overacted.
On the other hand, I think that advertising does a wonderful job in disseminating the advantages of the Mac platform, like the rarity of viruses and the advantages of not having to reboot Macs frequently (as opposed to PCs). These attributes are not very widely known and it was time they were advertised to the general population.
All about me!!

Answer: Start writing down your family tree or family history. You can get lists of questions to ask family members online. You can also research some things online. Then all you have to do is figure out who to call, then just buy a nice notebook and a nice pen and find a template online. Then make your notes and transfer it to the nice notebook. This can take hours and hours of time, and it’s really fascinating to learn about your family.
I traced my family history back to 1142 in England. I also found out that if about 12,000 people in the line of succession die, I would be queen of England! Obviously not gonna happen, but it’s a fun fact to have on hand. And out of, what 5 billion people on earth, it’s fascinating to know that I’m that close to the Queen. You never know what you’ll find out about YOUR family!
