Scrapbooking is a hobby that has taken the market by storm. Scrapbooking is a way of preserving important documents, photos, and mementos in albums. You can find scrapbooking supplies in almost all retail stores ranging from supermarkets to department stores to online stores to your neighbors selling some. Usually a scrapbook has a theme such as a birthday book, a graduation book or a wedding book. People who do scrapbooking as a hobby or as a profession are called ’scrappers’. Scrappers often get together to do scrapbook together, share ideas and tools.

Physical scrapbooks vs digital scrapbooks

As a hobby, some people prefer physical scrapbooking while others prefer digital scrapbooking where you do all your scrapbooking in electronic format. In digital scrapbooking, you would scan your photos, receipts and notes and compile them onto a website or a digital scrapbook where you can share with your friends and family.

What do I need to start scrapbooking as a hobby?

It is not hard to start scrapbooking, but to do it well, you may need advice or even lessons. While you can buy premade scrapbooking kits and just start filling the pages up with photos, you will do a much better job if you get together with other scrapbookers to share ideas and learn from people who have been scrapbooking for much longer than you have. Don’t forget to have page protectors, scissors nad paper cutter, hole punch, glue, photo corners and mounts, and anything else you want to go on your scrapbooks.
