Volunteering is working for a others without wanting compensation or rewards of any kind. There are many types of volunteer work. You can volunteer for an organization (usually nonprofit organization), a charity, a church, or to help someone or a family in need. Some people volunteer as a hobby, donating their spare time and efforts to help others. Volunteering is a very rewarding hobby because you know that your work is helping others who are less fortunate than you.

What do I need to do to volunteer as a hobby?

If you decide that you want to do volunteer work as a hobby, then the first thing to do is to find an organization that is working for a cause that you believe in. For example, to help the homeless, to help at risk youth, to help sick children, to help abused women and to give toys for Christmas. Once you have found an organization that is working on what you believe in and you want to help, you can contact them to ask how you could help. Most organizations have websites and you can read about how to help there. Then get to work whenever you have time.
