Historical trekking refers to any number of activities that involve the reenactment of historical events often, though not always, in a particular location.

Who are historical trekkers?

Historical Trekkers often claim to be experimental archaeologists in that they study the history of a given period in a manner which is less focused on discovery of artifacts and academic focus and more focused on aesthetic goals.

Historical Trekking generally refers to amateur enthusiasts of a given time period (American Civil War is one of the most popular topics for historical trekkers). These enthusiasts may or may not have any particular formal training, archaeological or anthropological backgrounds.

Historical Trekking is a growing hobby with many followers around the world.
