Aviation is a field of activities where a machine, heavier than air, powered by its own power plant or propelling engine, can be made to fly in the air to convey the human beings or the goods from one place to another.

Both the starting place and the destination needs a long stretch of unobstructed flat plain road like area on which the machine moves with certain speed and gradually lifts off the ground at the starting location. This machine then slowly gains height and moves in the air till the destination is reached and then slowly lowers its height to touch down the road like stretch to land. The human beings seated in this machine (Aviators) can look downwards and can see the surface of the earth from high above the ground just like a bird. The flying machine requires to be controlled continuously while in flight and that is where the thrill is.

Aviation is always subject to weather and various aerodynamic forces, which are controlled by the aviator with the help of the control surfaces placed in that machine itself. Adjusting and controlling the extent of deviation of the control surfaces while propelling the machine towards the destination is
thrilling and risky also because any wrong control can cause the machine fall like a stone on the earth’s surface. As a hobby its very thrilling and also very addictive.

Once some one has started flying a machine in the air, and traveling from place to place by controlling the machine by himself, its very difficult to refrain from doing so again and again. It not only involves the skill but also the fear of falling down and crashing on the ground to fatality. This particular feeling of how to avoid falling down like a stone at the same time propel forwards and do some aerobatic maneuvers in the air without colliding with the flying birds or other flying machines is the essence of the attraction.

The hobby of Aviation, however, is a costly hobby and also requires a permissible weather condition to fly. The hobby can be exercised both during the day and night. Generally the machines and the aviators are attached to a functional airport.
