Rubber stamping is a hobby that has been enjoyed by many crafters who now also enjoy scrapbooking. With rubber stamping, you can make beautiful cards and pictures without having to be able to draw or paint. Rubber stamping makes your art and craft projects easy to do. Rubber stamping involves using a stamp and ink to print an image. The stamp is made of rubber into which an image been carved or vulcanized or laser engraved. Although the concept of rubber stamping is an easy one, there are many techniques to rubber stamping and there are many types of rubber stamps and ink that should be used for different purposes.

If you are taking up rubber stamping as a hobby, make sure that you know how to take care of your rubber stamps. Each time you use a rubber stamp, you must clean it. Taking proper care of your rubber stamps make them last much longer and ready for your next project.
What do I need to start rubber stamping as a hobby?
What you need to start rubber stamping is a few rubber stamps, ink, surface such as paper for stamping and markers, paint or chalk. Nowadays, you will find rubber stamping supplies in most stores with craft sections including Walmart, Target, Jo-Ann, Michaels, and of course you can also mail order your rubber stamping supplies. Although the hobby is called rubber stamping, you will find that there are many stamps that are not made of rubber that you want to use. The techniques are similar so you don’t have to stick with just rubber stamps.
