Drumming is a hobby for music lovers. Drumming is a fun and sociable hobby that can come in handy for the community.
What is drumming as a hobby?
Drumming involves playing percussion instruments, either in a group of all-percussion instruments such as a drumming circle, or as the percussionist for some other type of group (rock band, marching band, etc.).
Every human culture has created drums and has some kind of drumming tradition. Some drumming groups focus on the rhythms and instruments of a single culture while others are more eclectic.
What is a drum?
A drum is acoustically a membranophone and these instruments range from very small congas to very large bass drums. Most drums consist of some kind of rigid shell covered with a membrane of some sort, whether animal skin, a modern drumhead material, or even steel (as in steel drums).
